Decided On: Kitchen Inspiration
After much deliberation, we've decided to go with Kitchen Inspiration #3. I really enjoyed and took to heart the comments left on the last kitchen post where readers were asked to pick their favorite. Most did not choose #3, the earthier and, I will admit, safer scheme. However, we felt the need to honor the architecture of our mid-century home by keeping the decor somewhat understated. Don't feel too disappointed though, if you really know me, you can bet this kitchen will have plenty of "stand out" details.
Many thanks to Thorn Architects for helping us plan our upcoming kitchen renovation. We hope to get started in January. Stay tuned.
I Heart Lake Tahoe
This time last year we brought our children to Lake Tahoe for the first time and they loved everything about it. We ventured there again this past weekend, and apparently, their feelings hadn't changed one bit. I've come to realize that I'm a mountain lover and so are our kids. Oceanside, as awesome as it can be, is not where we as a family, dream to spend our leisure time by. ONE day [hopefully soon] we'll own a chic A-frame cabin with a retro wood burning stove, lots of sheep skin rugs thrown about and plenty of space for visiting guests. Until then, take a look at a few of my favorite images from this weekend (one of them of my new favorite store).
Many thanks to HK and KK for giving us the opportunity to share the beauty of Lake Tahoe with our children one more time. The only thing that would have made this week-end sweeter was to have them enjoying it with us! XO
7 Inspiring Home Office Spaces
Last week I decided to renovate our home office space. We tore up the rug, took down the built-in cabinetry and carefully removed the redwood panels that lined the walls. At present, it's a pretty raw space and my mind is teeming with ideas inspired by the these images, this pin and these chairs.

A Little About A Lot Or A Lot About A Little
I've always dabbled in many things at any given time. Currently, photography, blogging, yoga and horticulture (the longest standing of them all) are my primary interests. Lately, however, I've been feeling the need to hone in on ONE of them and take it to the next level. I've never really applied myself entirely to one avocation and I regret not having done so. This could be due to my personality or the fact I've not found the "it" thing to devote most of my time to yet. I'm hoping that this post will encourage me to focus on ONE thing. I've compiled a list of what I hope to accomplish within each area of interest. The difficulty will lie in picking the right one in the right order.
1. Photography: Learn the mechanics of my camera and study techniques for taking better photographs.
2. Horticulture : Sharpen my knowledge of plants and learn to draw landscape plans.
3. Blogging: Get more computer savvy with Wordpress and Photoshop.
4. Yoga: Take a certificate class (not neccessarily to become an instructor, but to heighten my individual practice).
Stay tuned for more on my personal and professional journeys.
