Room Inspiration: A Modern Mid-Century Dining Room

Twehues DR A psdNow that most of the living room components for the Eichler home I'm currently working on are in place, we're moving onto the dining room.  This is the room inspiration that is guiding the look and feel of the living spaces.  Modern lines, warm metals and classic mid-century designed chairs will honor the home's iconic style, while remaining fully family functional.  The West Elm dining table has been ordered, the benches have arrived and now we're waiting for the lighting and deciding on an area rug.  Can't wait to see it all come together and to share this home's before and after images. Room elements:

Curio Display Cabinet, Plaza Chandelier, Boerum Dining Table and Benches, Eames Dowel Leg Side Chair, Herringbone Hand Knotted Flamestitch Rug.

Room Inspiration: A Modern Mid-Century Living Room

Twehues LR A psd I built this room inspiration around a leather sofa owned by my clients. Its mid-century inspired design is a perfect fit for the Eichler home they live in and their passion for that era's style.  We're working on adding color, texture and period appropriate accents throughout their main living areas.  I'm excited to mix newly found vintage pieces and contemporary ones that will hold up to the demands of a growing family.  Stay posted for project updates.

Room elements:

Sculptural Chaise Lounge Chair,  Mulberry Tripod Floor Lamp, Chimayo Throwsideboard, Petrie Sofa, Cavett Leather Chair, Safavieh Beltram Rug, and Spindle Side Table.

Layered Neutrals: Part 2

I recently had the opportunity to visit clients who recently welcomed their second child.  After a brief hiatus from working on their home, I stopped by to stylize their living room with a couple of plants, several patterned pillows and a comfy throw.  Seeing how the space emerged from the virtual room inspiration (below) into real life was quite rewarding.  As life settles down for the growing family more personal touches will be added, but for now they have the foundation for an inviting living area to read, play and watch TV.  Many congratulations SH and JH on your adorable new arrival.

These are the key pieces that make up the room.

1.  EQ3's Mañana Floor Lamp    2.  Williams and Sonoma Herringbone Flamestitch Rug 3.  West Elm's Paneled Armoire  4.  Suite NY's Friday Lounger 5.  Room and Board's Tyne Round Coffee Table and 6.  the Mota Wedge Sectional from Viesso.
