The Outdoors Brought In: Illuminated Driftwood

In an effort to preserve a bit of our roof deck garden, I brought the driftwood planted with succulents indoors.   Its new home is on a dresser top in our master bath.  Illuminated  with Restoration Hardware's Starry String Lights, this summer remnant  now takes on a holiday flair.  Take a look:

These warm white LED starry string lights are battery powered and strung on bendable copper or silver wire so they are super easy to wrap around just about anything, anywhere, any time of year!  I just ordered two more sets.

Hard to believe it's the week before Christmas.  I have a few more holiday decor and punch bowl party images to share with you before the week's end.  Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season thus far.  We sure are!

Off The Counter: The Prison Tray

This week's Off The Counter features my husband's most recent favorite purchase, stackable serving trays, otherwise known as 'prison trays'.  Found in a tiny shop in Portland, ME (wish I could remember the name),  these trays are perfect for outdoor dining and serving holiday leftovers.  Hope everyone had a lovely holiday,  we certainly did.  I leave you with a few photos of a Thanksgiving tradition we began this year.  Take a look below:

Having each guest (child or adult) at the Thanksgiving table write what they're thankful for on pre-made tags promotes conversations about what the holiday is all about.  The tags can be taken home or hung as reminders of the day and the blessings we enjoy.

Wanted: Punch Bowl Recipes

We haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet and I'm already planning our 2nd annual holiday punch bowl party.  Last year's punch was a mixture of prosecco, gin and lemon juice.  The light,  bubbly mixture was adorned by a bed of mosses and ferns that gave the night a woodland feel.   This year I need help deciding what spirits' combo to feature in our bowl.  Any suggestions?
