7 Beautiful Brass Sconces

Now that I've added brass accents to our soon completely renovated kitchen, I'm looking forward to integrating a few brassy accents to other areas of our home.  Since the  hallway that joins the bedrooms and bathrooms is visible from the kitchen,  it's logically the first place to focus on.  Currently, the chandelier sconces that worked rather nicely with our Cambridge home decor don't blend so well with our Mid-century Cali one, so I'm rather keen on replacing them quickly.  Here are 7 of my favorite fixtures for the corridor (some I like more than others).  Can you guess which one is at the top of my list?!?

1.  Galliano Wall Fixture Sconce, 2. Arteriors Home Maxim Light, 3.  Dwell Studio Devoe Sconce, 4.  Hinkley Margeaux Multi Bulb Wall Sconce, 5. Hudson Valley Lighting Walton 1 Wall Light, 6.  Bestlite's BL7 Wall Sconce, 7.  Rejuvenation Momo Single Sconce

Moving Mode: Here And There

It's been nearly 8 months since our  move and things are gradually falling into place.  Items that once fit so nicely in our  Cambridge house have found a perfect placement in our California home.  Take a look at how it looked there and how it now looks here:

I think that a favorite part about decorating a space, whether it's for clients or for myself is utilizing what already exists and making it feel new again.

Room Inspiration: A Room For My Hubby

This week's Room Inspiration is a result of my husband's love for Chesterfield sofas.  We've been discussing couch options for our family room and even explored the possibility of a tufted leather classic,  but I'm afraid it may not be the right option for that space.  Don't get me wrong, I love mixing styles and eras,  but a Chesterfield in this particular room  may be a bit much.  Hence the virtual room where a Chesterfield sofa would work perfectly.

The room's essential pieces:

A painting by Alex's newly found favorite artist, the Atelier Chesterfield in bottle green, accent pillows, a shag rug, the perfect reading light, The New York Times, a bottle of Chimay and cool coffee table.

What I find funny is that part of my job as a designer/decorator is to help couples sort out their style preferences and here I am revealing mine through a blog post.  I'm a bit nervous to see Alex's response.

Are you a Chesterfield enthusiast too?

Room Inspiration: A Calm, Comfortable And Stylish Nursery

Having already selected a crib from Restoration Hardware,  a client asked Cocoon to create a nursery for the upcoming arrival of baby .  Her request was to have a space that would be calming, comfortable and not overly baby-fied.  Opting for a neutral palette, mixing rug and bedding patterns, and adding sophisticated furniture will ensure the baby's room fulfills Mom's wishes and be as stylish as she is as well.  Take a look at this week's Room Inspiration and keep posted for its reveal.

Lately, I've been playing with Photoshop and tried it for this post. I'd love to know if you prefer seeing Room Inspiration presented like it is today or more like this?

p.s.:  I will get better at it...

Thanks for taking the time to comment,
