The Creative Residency

I have fantastic news!  I was just accepted to be a fellow at The Creative Residency, a seminar series founded by  Justina Blakeney and Dabito.  They are both  leaders in the blogging, photography and styling stratosphere.  Simply put, they're kick ass creatives!   At the end of the month I'll be attending their Social Media Practicum in LA.  It took courage to apply but I'm so glad I did and now I'm in it!

I feel like great things are happening ahead and I'm fully engaged to embrace them.

Be sure to check out all of the seminars at The Creative Residency here and follow their Instagram feed for inspiring images and words!

Room Inspiration: Textile Covered Ottoman

Ever since I spied this vintage textile covered ottoman at ABC Carpet and Home, I've imagined  it in front or inside a closet (a walk-in, of course).   In my vision it provides a place to  sit while deciding what to wear or becomes catch-all for a handbag and dress worn the night before.  Take a peek at how that bedroom would take shape:

wallpaper: anthropologie

bed: anthropologie

armoire: South of Market

Ochre Cherub Lap

I like that one would be able to see the wallpaper through the glass.

CB2's metal proof night stands offset the curvy lines of the headboard adding yet another element to the space.

Suzanne Sharp's tibetan, dippy black

Horchow's purple framed mirror adds a dose of drama to any wall.

Multi buckled satchel from Alexander Wang

Do you have a favorite?  Mine:  the ottoman and the multi-buckled satchel.

Room Inspiration

I pass this tree everyday when dropping my son off at preschool.  I've always liked smoke trees for their  bold foliage and feathery blooms.   The colors in this one would make for a pretty room.  Dusty rose and light green.  take a look at how a room could take shape....

A graphic wallpaper with soft tones from American Wallpaper and Blinds.  A great site to find inexpensive papers. Be forwarned,  there's a lot  you'll need to sort through before you find the right one.  It's worth it... oftentimes the rolls are between $20-$40.

Bungalow 5 3 drawer side table in lacquered moss.

Serena & Lily damask fabric for a duvet cover.

I originally had another lamp picked out until i saw yesterday's Cococozy blog.   This IKEA pendant lamp was featured.  It's a perfect match for the feather blossoms of the smoke tree.

Paint colors that reflect the tones in both the flowers and the stems.

Finding inspiration for your space can come from anywhere.  Let me know what you think.
