Mellow Moments
This past weekend we stayed around the house. We played games, read, cooked a lot and just plain mellowed out. We all needed some time to regroup and settle back into a quieter post holiday routine. During our first year in California we ventured out almost every weekend to show our children all our favorite sights. Now l feel we can relax knowing that we ARE here to stay. Here's to many more mellow moments in between fun new discoveries...
7 Of The Moment Light Fixtures
I've been gathering lighting suggestions for a client on the East coast, and this is, by far, my favorite grouping. Each fixture very different from the next, yet cohesive enough to make the illuminated rooms flow seamlessly into one another. I'm hoping that several of the above make the final cut!
Entry: Marcello Pendant ; living room: Modo Chandelier, Galliano Wall Sconce, and the Melrose Floor Lamp; dining room: Astra Chandelier, Hans Agne Jakobsson Sconces; bedroom: Foscarini Lumiere sconces.
My favorite is the Marcello Pendant for the entrance hall. Which one speaks to you?

Window Shopping: Bergdorf Goodman
This Monday, while in NYC, I did my usual thing: Bergdorf Goodman window shop. My ritual is to get up early before the store opens (most likely to avoid any temptation to shop), walk through Central Park to 5th avenue and ogle the [quite possibly] best window displays in the world. This time, a bookish Spring was in the air with bold colors, big prints and satiny fabrics. Take a look:
I must admit it was exciting to see Prada featured (first and second images), since I've been mildy obsessed with the large monstera prints that adorn their Spring 2014 line.
On my next trip I may throw caution to the wind and perhaps do some actual shopping...

Out And About: Farmgirl Flowers
On a buying [botanicals] mission to the San Francisco Flower Market for an upcoming event, Natalia and I encountered Farmgirl Flowers by sheer chance. Their stand, unlike others at the mart, is a full fledged studio composed of work tables, unique vessels and locally sourced vibrant botanicals. Daily floral arrangements are artfully composed with seasonal materials, ultimately wrapped in burlap and delivered to businesses and residences throughout San Francisco via bicycles, remaining true to this company's mission: simple, local and beautiful. Not only has the owner and founder Christina Stembel realized her dream of being an eco-conscious and affordable florist, she also created a super cool work environment for her talented employees. Take a good look:
