Pattern Prediction

The intricately embroidered medallions of traditional Suzani tapestries continue to grace modern day interiors.  As bed and pillow covers, even rugs,  these Central Asian works of art will surely make 2011 a more beautiful year.   My favorites are the ones with very dark, almost black, silk threads mixed with bright oranges, pinks and reds.  Their color combinations seem to be endless just like their beautiful designs.  Find the ones you love and share them with me.

Take a look at some retail links that feature Suzani prints on Cocoon's Facebook page.

Chicago Class

This Chicago home is full of class and substance.  Neutral tones and textural elements help make it a serene abode.  Take a look at Chicago blogger Crystals design sensibilities.

I love the  mix of bold pattern and soft color in the bedding.

A leopard print pillow adds pizzaz to an antique  chair.

A rug in a second seating area adds a colorful tribal touch to an otherwise neutral setting.

Adorning an entry with a favorite piece of clothing should remind one of what to wear and how to wear it.  It's an easy and creative way to add detail and interest to one's space.

Just look in your closet for your next dramatic entrance.

Sunset With Angela Adams

Angela Adams interpretation of sundown brings a burst of color, texture and pattern to her collection in the new Sunset rug.  Combining burgundies, pinks and burnt oranges this rug would be a delight in any space.

Beautifully displayed among rows of mums the Sunset rug conjures up memories of  late summer evenings.    I feel a room inspiration coming on.   Stay posted.
