Empire State Of Mind

I'm only now beginning to recover  from a weekend spent in NY celebrating a friend’s birthday.  Not necessarily due to an overindulgence of 'spirits' but  rather of mind overload.  There was so much to see and do in a short time.  The night was warm, the lights bright and the birthday girl radiant.  Take a look at the event’s venue, the Empire Hotel roof deck.

'Til Monday

This week's 'Til Monday photo is of a box of glazed croissants.  My painter showed up this morning to finish painting the bedroom with a box of yummy morning treats for me.  A sweet way to start my weekend.  Hope you all have a good one!!

Weekend Green

The summers end always brings along the need to refresh my planters.  This year, like most I combined grasses and sedums which create a nice balance of texture and color.  I love how the bright green of the sedum and the spiky blades of the grass play off each other.  Around mid October I put gourds in the planters and place pumpkins around the bases to give the house a seasonal touch.

Let me know how you transition your outdoor area for the changing season.

'Til Monday

This week's 'Til Monday images are from one of my blog readers' homes.  A previous 'Til Monday post about Graham and Brown wallpapers prompted her to search and find the perfect wall covering for her foyer.  Take a look at how great it looks.  I hope this post will inspire you to try something different in your space.  Have a great weekend!

The paper was also hung in the back hallway giving depth to the entry.

Lady Luxe- A Vintage Experience

I've on many occasions driven by this store front dying to go in but in a car filled with kids kept on going.  Last week I nearly drove by again until I realized I was alone and stopped.  Lady Luxe was worth the wait.  A true vintage store owned and operated by two sisters.  It's filled with vintage clothing and antique collectibles merchandised in a fanciful way.  The sisters love the idea of fusing old with new both in the closet and in the home. While there I bought a cute billowy white blouse with gold piping and colorful butterflies on it.  A great addition to my late summer wardrobe.  Take a look at some photos of the store.

If you're in the area it's worth a stop.  Let me know what cool things you end up with!

And remember to check out Cocoon Home's Facebook page.
