Tray Secrets
Everyday at least 3 times a day I use a tray. It has completely simplified meal times for me. No matter how big or small the meal is, desert or breakfast I set my tray on the counter and fill it up with all the necessities for eating. It keeps the dishes contained, my counter free of clutter and limits the back and forth from kitchen to table. If the kids don't bring their dishes directly to the sink they put them on the tray and off I go. My favorite tray is the Formaos from CB2. It's handles make for easly pick up and the stand creates another surface which we use when barbequing. I like that is multi-functional, light and easy to clean. Take a look a few others.
Simply Designz metal tray from Bloomingdales is $55. This tray will look good in any home.
I love this one. It doesn't have handles but for those evening cocktails with friends it's perfect. With high edges glasses and plates can't slide off, the divider is adjustable and the lid doubles has a tray. All that for $146.
‘Til Monday
For those of you who know me, you know I love yellow, at least in our current house. When we decided to hang a tire swing it was actually my husband who bought a yellow one, not me. How sweet. I do have to confess that I was appalled by the bright blue rope that the arborist used to hang it with. I didn't have the heart to send him away to get a black one. So the blue rope remains, as does the yellow swing. I can’t imagine our yard with out it. Moral of the story...Some things are just not worth worrying about. Have a great weekend.
Room Inspiration
I pass this tree everyday when dropping my son off at preschool. I've always liked smoke trees for their bold foliage and feathery blooms. The colors in this one would make for a pretty room. Dusty rose and light green. take a look at how a room could take shape....
A graphic wallpaper with soft tones from American Wallpaper and Blinds. A great site to find inexpensive papers. Be forwarned, there's a lot you'll need to sort through before you find the right one. It's worth it... oftentimes the rolls are between $20-$40.
Bungalow 5 3 drawer side table in lacquered moss.
Serena & Lily damask fabric for a duvet cover.
I originally had another lamp picked out until i saw yesterday's Cococozy blog. This IKEA pendant lamp was featured. It's a perfect match for the feather blossoms of the smoke tree.
Paint colors that reflect the tones in both the flowers and the stems.
Finding inspiration for your space can come from anywhere. Let me know what you think.
Chair Change
Take a look at how changing chairs changes the look of this kitchen area. To keep the space clean and crisp the square Room and Board table was painted high gloss white and originally paired with white IKEA chairs. Wood chairs from Restoration Hardware have replaced the white plastic ones. An animal print rug under the table adds warmth and interest to the space.
Till Monday
This is how i'm starting my weekend. A Bloc 11 latte, my latest obsession. Thank goodness they don't take up any floor space and are easy on the wallet. Have a great weekend!
